About Chelsea Joynt

Hi there, thank you for stopping by! My name is Chelsea and I'm from Canada where I currently live with my husband and two young kids. I've always loved writing to express myself and thought, why not share?

I like to think that anyway. But there's a good chance due to a lot of my loved ones passing well before they should have, that I am in fact just going through a midlife crisis at 32. Either way, I'm happy to have you along for the ride.

If you're intense by nature, don't shy away from the taboo, are assertive and have been frequently treated like you're too much, my writing may be for you. We're team neurodivergent over here. So to my misfits who went through their Goliath in life early and most likely have trouble fitting in and/or accepting societal norms, welcome. I hope my writing can help make you feel more understood and less alone.

This local author has compiled a dark, emotional yet poignant collection of poems that speak to us and the young person we used to be by delving into feelings and thoughts that we had and continue to have on this rollercoaster of a life we are riding.

I felt these words in my core. Thank you to the author for such a beautifully written, brave, emotional journey. This book reminds me of a time when I was a young woman trying to navigate my relationships (some toxic) who left me with unresolved feelings of anxiety, shame and sadness. Seeing these emotions on paper was reassuring and strengthening.

Chelsea Joynt's premiere poetry collection, "Have You Tried Meditation? Have You Thought About Medication," already had me at the title, and everything that followed did not disappoint! Her work is a perfect example of the power words carry when a writer allows themselves to be vulnerable. Her poetry is reflective of life, love, and everyday moments; of the things we think, but do not always say; of the realness and the intimacy in relationships; of the imperfect way we view ourselves through jaded lenses, and the gratitude we have when love shows us we are so much more than we give ourselves credit for! To sum this book up In one word- RELATABLE!
